Pantry list to print

You print the list and put it up on the store cupboard. It has two columns others leave out: how often you restock something and when you last did.

The list follows the house from the fridge to the bathroom. Beside each item you note how much there is and how long it keeps.

Or press Ctrl+P, or on a phone use “Share” and then “Print”. To get a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” in the print dialogue, or on an iPhone use “Share”. Only the sheet is printed.

In the moj app the list asks about an item once its rhythm says it is due.

Why two columns instead of one?

Because a list that only names what is in the cupboard answers the wrong question. What matters is not that rice belongs there. What matters is whether it will run out soon.

That takes two numbers: how often you restock it, and the day you last did. The template has exactly these two columns.

moj does the same sum without anyone keeping a column. It takes 3 purchases within 90 days to make a rhythm. Once the usual gap since the last purchase has passed, the app asks once. It is a suggestion, not a reminder that comes back every day.

Is the list enough for emergency supplies?

As a sheet, yes. As advice, no. Anyone looking for a pantry list often has supplies for an emergency in mind. In Germany the right place for that is the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance, not us. It recommends food and drink for ten days and works out the amounts per person.

That list is a job for the authorities. What this sheet adds is the two columns that stop your supplies from quietly running out.

Official advice and amounts: bbk.bund.de, stocking up on food and drink (in German, as of 12 October 2026, no guarantee).

What can’t the template do?

Paper forgets nothing, but it doesn’t do sums either. The “Last bought” column is only as good as the hand that fills it in. And filling it in is exactly what stops after three weeks.

As of 12 October 2026. In the Swiss App Store since 6 October 2026. Germany and Austria will follow, and Android by the end of the year.

Short answers

What belongs on a pantry list?

Anything that should never run out but isn’t bought every week. That means flour, rice, oil, tins, coffee, washing powder, toothpaste and toilet paper. Fresh food goes on the shopping list, not here.

Which supplies does the German government recommend?

The German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) sets that out, not this page. It offers a supplies calculator and amounts per person for ten days, drinks included. This template doesn’t calculate anything or suggest any amounts. It is meant for the everyday stock you keep anyway. Emergency supplies belong on a second sheet with the same layout.

What is the “How often” column for?

It records how often you actually restock something. Toilet paper might be every three weeks, coffee every ten days. Together with “Last bought” it shows at a glance what is due. You don’t have to open the cupboard to check.

How often should I go through the list?

Once a month is enough. A rhythm only shows up over several purchases, not over two.

Does moj do this automatically?

Yes, and that is the whole difference. Anything you have bought 3 times in 90 days gets a rhythm. Once that gap has passed, moj suggests it under “Again?” on the shopping list. Nobody has to keep a column for it.

Pantry list template by moj, as of 12 October 2026. All the lists: printable templates. For the weekly shop there is the shopping list sorted by supermarket area.

What if the list did the remembering?

moj is the family planner you simply send things to: by WhatsApp, as a voice message or as a photo. It all ends up sorted, where everyone can see it.
