What’s new

A new version of moj reaches you through the App Store. But much of what changes happens on our server and applies to all of you at once.

What can moj do since 14 October?

14 October 2026. These changes run on our server. That is why they apply to everyone, even on version 1.0.

Children without a phone of their own

  • On every school day the kitchen display shows when a child’s school ends, with the subjects.
  • A new task for a child without an account of their own notifies the adults.
  • If a child’s phone is removed, the child keeps their tasks.

Timetable

  • If a child’s timetable is hidden, moj does not mention school holidays at their appointments.
  • A photo of a timetable without a name never goes to a child whose timetable is hidden.

Duty roster

  • A code you once answered as off is not asked about with the next roster.
  • If a changed roster drops a code altogether, moj still cancels the old shift.

What’s new in version 1.0.2?

13 October 2026. Version 1.0.2 is in the App Store. It brings the timetable, the “Birthday” widget and more for families with children.

Timetable

  • A child’s page now has a school timetable. You add it with a photo or by hand, with the subjects of each day and the times of the lessons.
  • Today shows until when there is school. In the evening it shows tomorrow’s subjects.
  • If the school has weeks A and B, you enter both and say which one this is.
  • A child’s phone shows the child’s own subjects for the day.
  • If a child is not at school yet, or no longer, you can hide their timetable.

Widgets

  • New: the “Birthday” widget. It shows whose birthday is next and in how many days. Below that it shows how many gift ideas there are already.
  • After your lists, the “List” widget now also offers “My tasks” and “All tasks”. You can tick them off there and add new ones.
  • The “Shopping list” widget is now a list you can tick off. There is nothing to set up.
  • In the notebook style the name of the list stands on the first line.

Children and caregivers

  • Children now only see buttons for what they are allowed to do. A child opens an appointment to read it. Buttons like “Add an appointment” or “Undo” are not there.
  • If a child is the second person on a task, it shows on the child’s Today.
  • An appointment without people no longer reminds children’s phones or caregivers.
  • Under “Family” moj asks about a child that is still entered as “Relatives, friends”.
  • A task for a child without a phone of their own reminds the adults.

In the app

  • The open shopping list loads the latest state every 30 seconds. You can also pull it down.
  • If moj files a message as a note because the limit without moj Plus is reached, the app now says why.
  • After a request for help the app replies “Asking the others”.
  • A note with a file shows “Open the file”.
  • If you follow an invitation, you get moj in your phone’s language.
  • A notification about a timetable or gift ideas opens that person’s page.
  • Photos and voice messages from the inbox arrive again. Since version 1.0.1 they ended in an error message.
  • You can take back a photo of a timetable in the inbox with “Undo”.

Calendar

  • Only whoever added a calendar from outside sees its switches.
  • moj no longer reminds you of the birthday of someone under “Not around”.

What can moj do since 13 October?

13 October 2026. These changes run on our server. That is why they apply to everyone, even on version 1.0.

Timetable

  • Send a photo of your child’s school timetable. moj keeps the subjects and the times with the child.
  • If one of the child’s appointments falls in a lesson, moj says so in its reply.
  • To “What does Mo have tomorrow?” moj answers with the subjects. The timetable does not apply in the school holidays or on public holidays.
  • After the summer holidays moj stops using the old timetable until you send the new one.

Duty roster

  • Send a photo of your duty roster. moj files each shift as an appointment.
  • moj knows the time of a code like “B8” from your calendar. If it does not know a code, it asks once.
  • A changed roster cancels the shifts on its days that no longer match.

What’s new in version 1.0.1?

12 October 2026. Version 1.0.1 is in the App Store, for now only in Switzerland. Most of what it brings is for the widgets.

Widgets

  • The “Clock and tasks” widget now also shows your appointments and their times beside the clock face. You can tick off a task there with one tap.
  • The clock loads the day by itself, even if you have not opened moj for a while. It leaves space around every appointment. An all-day appointment no longer cuts across the others.
  • If you like, the shopping list in the “List” widget can take you through the shop one area at a time. Tapping the area shows the next one.
  • You can hide the name of the list.
  • Ticked-off items disappear from the widget after ten seconds. They stay in the app.
  • In the notebook style the writing sits above its lines. The plus button is kept clear.

Calendar

  • If you like, moj shows a calendar from outside only as busy. moj then never stores its titles and places at all.
  • For each of these calendars you decide whether moj reminds you of its appointments.
  • On an appointment you can also choose individual people under “Who sees this”.
  • If several people take turns driving for a series of appointments, the rota is kept when you edit the series.

Family space

  • Every family space now has a country and a currency. moj works out your totals in that currency.
  • In Switzerland the public holidays of your canton apply.
  • A new family space uses your phone’s time zone.

What changed without a new version?

8 and 9 October 2026. These changes run on our server. That is why they apply to everyone, even on version 1.0.

What moj understands

  • If you ask “Who can take Mo to swimming later?”, moj looks for the swimming in the calendar. If it finds it, moj asks the others on that very appointment who takes it. It no longer creates a second appointment.
  • You can also ask for help with an appointment of your own: “Picking up furniture on Saturday at 10, who can help me?”. The question stays open until someone other than you is on the appointment.
  • “This week and next week are off” cancels both weeks of a recurring appointment.
  • If several people take turns with a task, naming one person applies to that one time only. “I’ll clear the snow on Saturday” leaves the rota as it is.
  • If a message names two people for a task, it is assigned to both.
  • If two people have the same name, moj’s follow-up question offers both to choose from.
  • A letter from school sent as a photo or PDF now keeps all its dates. That also applies when moj first asks which child it is for.
  • “undo” takes a message back even when moj still has a question open about it.

Notifications and replies

  • If moj adds someone else to an appointment because of a message, the notification to the others names that person. Previously it named the sender.
  • If you are in two family spaces, every reply on WhatsApp tells you which family space it is about.
  • Between 21:00 and 07:00 moj collects notifications and sends them as one in the morning. If you are in two family spaces, each line in it now says which space it comes from.
  • Anything deleted during the night is left out of this morning notification.

Calendar and addresses

  • If a child’s appointment falls in the school holidays, moj says so underneath. moj no longer shows this note for nursery, crèche and kindergarten. They do not follow the school holidays.
  • Your appointments can be shown as a calendar subscription in another calendar and as a kitchen display on a tablet. Every adult now has their own addresses for this. If someone leaves the family, only that person’s addresses stop working. You can read more on Who sees what.

What was version 1.0?

6 October 2026. Version 1.0 was the first version of moj in the App Store, for now only in Switzerland. What it can do is described under Features.

How does something new reach you?

New versions come through the App Store. Only a new version can change what runs on the phone itself. The widgets are one example.

Smaller changes to the app come as an update. moj downloads it automatically when you open it. It takes effect the next time you start the app.

Our server decides what moj understands and how it replies. A change there applies to everyone straight away, even on an older version.

You can see which version you have at the very bottom of moj’s Settings. After an update its date is shown there too.
